Mike and Emma with Rhubarb

We were a bit sceptical when our vet suggested hydrotherapy for our cat Rhubarb following surgery for hip dysplasia, he's had a lot to deal with in his life and water isn't one of his favourites. The thought of putting him in water and on a harness seemed like it might be a step too far!

Fortunately Susan put our concerns to rest and got Rhubarb used to the treadmill gradually; so stress, no hassle. I think he enjoyed the massage more than the water but it was amazing how quickly we saw results. I wouldn't say he enjoyed it but he certainly didn't panic which was important to us as the brave little guy also has a heart condition. After just a couple of weeks he was moving around a lot more freely and after ten weeks he's now jumping fences and chasing butterflies. Amazing given he has a joint missing...

We can't thank Susan enough for her patience and the care that went into helping Rhubarb recover; who'd have thought that after just a few weeks a cat would be jogging along happily up to his chin in water!
